Volvo is starting to sell the XC40 Recharge online direct to the UK customer, negating the need for new car dealerships to offer the vehicle. The car is available via the Volvo subscription service at fixed and flexible monthly subscription packages. The Swedish manufacturer is saying they expect the subscription service to account for 95% of retail business. Yes, 95%. That’s just about everyone.
The non-ironically-named Care by Volvo Fixed offers the XC40 Recharge from £619 a month over a three-year term. On-the-road prices from £49,950.
Doesn’t this just relegate the dealer to being a collection/delivery service? And service centre? And that’s it.
