Twisted Automotive, the Land Rover Defender modification specialist, has a lovely new showroom in Thirsk, Yorkshire. Yes, we’re banging on about another Yorkshire success story!
At 8,500 square foot, the new Twisted site is actually the town’s old cinema which will now have around 25 of Twisted’s spectacularly modified vehicles on display. Although the company also says it is re-focussing on its key strengths and will actually modify fewer, higher spec vehicles this year.
Twisted founder, Charles Fawcett, and his team spent the latter half of 2020 converting the cinema into a modern showroom and events space. And, of course, it even has a cinema screen.
Fawcett said: “The coronavirus pandemic brought the world to a standstill and we had a rare opportunity to reflect on where we were as a business and where we were heading. It became obvious that we had deviated slightly from our original intention to make the Defender the very best it can be.
“In 2021 we want to start building fewer vehicles so that the customer journey can be given the same attention as the vehicles themselves. We have managed to assemble the finest team on the factory floor and we can now display their Defender brilliance in fitting surroundings. It’s going to be an exciting year.”
