VW has announced the super-sporty new Polo GTI by reminding us that those three little letters still send a shiver up the back of any self-respecting car driver.
GTI. VW launched their first back in 1976 and the German giant rightly plays the significance of the term in this new launch. But let’s get over the GTI-ness of it all, let’s dig into the car itself.
VW says it sets new benchmarks for compact cars, with serious technological progress, high body rigidity, an exemplary low weight, and very good crash properties.
And its sporty credentials? Check out the TSI engine and sports chassis. It is very much being marketed as a four-door sports car.
