News from Texas of two men dying when a Tesla Model S – believed to be without a driver – crashed near Houston has forced us all to think again about how far we can go with this concept.
Texan Police reported that they found no one in the driver’s seat when they arrived at the scene.
One person was in the front passenger seat while the other was in the back.
Of course, there have been other fatal crashes of vehicles without a driver, yet Elon Musk has made it clear that this is where he sees the future of the car, saying earlier this year that he is “highly confident the car will be able to drive itself with reliability in excess of human this year”.
So, let’s stop and think for a moment. Are you ready to get into a driverless car?
