A new survey for What Car? claims that over 80% of new car buyers say a Euro NCAP safety rating of four stars or above is the bare minimum they want from their new vehicle. Car Dealer Mag is reporting that over 80% of the 900+ motorists questioned won’t look at anything below four stars.
Amazingly, a few people surveyed (though under 4%) reckon car safety isn’t important at all and that they’d even buy a zero-rated car.
It is being reported that What Car?’s research found over 69% of buyers rate crash protection and active safety technologies as the most important safety issues, while nearly 23% say crash protection kit is their priority. OK, so they say they really value safety. But the survey also found that only around 31% know the safety score of the car they’re currently driving.
