Look, we’ve talked about Polestar quite a lot already. You know the deal. Swedish. Owned by Volvo. Pretty cool. Too cool for traditional showrooms.
Anyway, now they’ve introduced the single-motor Polestar 2 which gives a range of around 260 miles (good but not great!) and aimed at the mid-market at less than £50k. Yes, we think that’s still a lot of money for a car, but this is a premium EV with fantastic pedigree, buckets of style and a lot else going for it.
Polestar themselves describe this new version as having two powertrains and ‘curated equipment packs’. We’re not 100% sure what that means, but it sounds cool.
The big thing, though, is the price, making it more accessible to a far wider market. It’s still a great EV, even without all the bells and whistles, and it’s showing the way forward for other EVs in the wider market.
