Now This Is What We Call A Classic

There is a really well-respected car restoration company called E-Type, based in Kent, who specialise in restoring…guess what?  Yes, that beautiful and classic E-Type Jag, which we all recall from our childhood as being the only sports car that could rival the Aston Martin DB5.

The team down at E-Type has got its hands on what is being referred to as The Snetterton Survivor, a stunning Series 1 E-Type Roadster with a unique history, and they’re planning to do a complete and glorious restoration job on the old beauty.

Manufactured in late 1964, this example of the classic Series 1 4.2 litre E-Type crashed while racing at Snetterton Race Circuit in Norfolk just three months later with just over 2,000 miles on the clock. While it suffered serious damage to the bodywork it was found that most of the mechanics were intact.

Now, thanks to the genius of the E-Type team, a full restoration is underway.  Down to the final washer, nut, and bolt each and every part of the car will be stripped, catalogued, and inspected for authenticity and integrity, with preservation remaining the priority throughout the process.

We can’t wait to see the result. What a great project.
