The brand new Abarth F595 boasts Formula 4 technology with a 165hp 1.4-litre engine and is designed very much as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Formula Italia single seater by Carlo Abarth. Abarth are saying it’s built for max performance and max fun. What’s not to like?
As for the F4 claim, that’s to be found under the bonnet where the 165hp 1.4-litre Euro 6D-Final-compliant T-jet engine, fitted with the supercharged Garrett turbo with a geometric compression ratio of 9:1, delivers a hell of a lot of torque from just 2,250 rpm. Oh, it also has a top speed of 135mph. Not bad, eh?
The F595 comes in hatchback and convertible versions and comes with all those lovely touches we have come to expect: Sport 17-inch Formula alloy wheels, F595 identification badge on the rear and fog lamps.
Here at NTK Motors we have to admit some reservations when Abarth hit the UK scene. Maybe it’s the awkward name? but we have to admit, this is a right little beauty.
