We have all seen the price of used cars spiral up and up, but now Cap HPI is confirming that some used models are actually costing more than when they were bought new. And there are no signs this trend will be slowing down any time soon.
The Top Ten list that Cap HPI revealed to Car Dealer Magazine contains an awful lot of high-end vehicles (Porches, a Lambo, a Mustang or two) but look at the Number One – the humble Dacia Sandero, which Cap HPI says can retail for as much as 119% of its new price.
Cap’s head of valuations Derren Martin told Car Dealer that the reasons behind this are that new alternatives for these cars are simply not available to buy, or that the waiting list to get hold of one is too long.
All the cars covered in the Cap HPI report-year old cars are a year old with 10,000 miles on the clock. Check out the Top Ten:
1. Dacia Sandero – 119%
2. Porsche 718 Spyder – 115%
