Reports are hitting us that many dealerships can no longer offer customers a test drive in their vehicle of choice because the dealers simply can’t get hold of the cars. Are you suffering the same? How are your customers reacting?
What Car? is saying that over one fifth of active new car buyers have had their test drive requests turned down due to a lack of vehicles or simply because there’s already a huge waiting list of people needing test drives.
Of course, we know about Covid hitting deliveries; we know about Brexit causing import problems across a range of sectors including ours; we also know about the semiconductor shortage causing vehicle manufacturers to cut production. All of these factors, and more, add up to no new vehicles for customers to test drive.
How is this affecting your dealership?
