An incredibly rare Renault Clio V6 showing a paltry 980 miles on the clock is being tipped to break auction world records when it goes under the hammer this week. It’s set to go for…wait for it…£70,000 or more!
Why? It’s only a Renault Clio, we hear you ask.
Well, firstly, this is an outstanding example in what they’re calling ‘time-warp’ condition. Exceedingly low mileage, of course, but also gorgeous original condition with no blemishes to the exterior and a pristine interior in superb order, with no wear or discolouration..
You can check it out at online auctioneers Collecting Cars, which has already sold Clio V6 Phase 1 and Phase 2 models for £62,540 and £55,917 respectively. So these are the world records this yellow V6 is set to beat.
To be fair, it is one of only 18 cars delivered to the UK in ‘Liquid Yellow’, this highly collectible modern classic has a 3.0-litre V6 Renaultsport engine which sends 255hp to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
A further rarity factor is that it’s one of just 1,309 examples of the Phase 2 model.
Let’s face it, collectors love a rarity, so get your chequebook out. (NOTE FROM 21st CENTURY – we don’t use chequebooks any more you old git!)
