British Classic Caterham Has New Owners

Caterham

When Need To Know motors was growing up, the Caterham 7 was known as the Poor Man’s Morgan.  Of course, this did both cars a disservice as they’re classics in their own right. It also showed that, as kids, we didn’t know what we were talking about!

And now news arrives at NTK Motors that the magnificent Caterham Cars has been bought by VT Holdings, a Japan-based auto group. They have been importing the Caterham 7 into Japan for over a decade – selling around 120 annually – and now they’ve bought the lot.

VT Holdings is one of Japan’s largest retailer groups, with over 200 outlets.  The group Chief Exec, Kazuho Takahashi, is passionate about classic cars and has raced competitively for the past 20 years.

He said: “VT Holdings is proud to welcome Caterham to the group. We have not only purchased a globally renowned performance car manufacturer but become custodians of a motoring legend. We will protect and develop the Seven to meet the legislative challenges that lie ahead.”
