As Julius Seebach, MD of Audi’s Sport GmbH, puts it: “The LMDh category fits perfectly with our new set-up in motorsport.  The regulations allow us to field fascinating race cars in prestigious races worldwide. In addition, we are making use of synergies inside the Volkswagen Group with our partner.”

The successor to the R18 is currently under development, with a twin team of Porsche and Audi boffins beavering away.  They have a lot to live up to, as Audi has a stupendous track record when it comes to endurance racing.
